Police get new dog

Hillsborough, NC -- A new K9 officer joins the Hillsborough Police Department this month, replacing a police dog that has served the town for eight years. Officer Viperis, a German Shepherd from Czechoslovakia, is a dual-purpose patrol dog.

Sedgwick County, KS-- The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Department has a new deputy, with four legs and fur. The police service dog and his trainer, deputy Justin Crafton just finished ten weeks of training. The dog, Chapo is a 17-month old Belgium Malinois.

When police responded to the call they brought along Josh, a police K-9 named for Army Sgt. Josh Brennan. Brennan, the son of Officer Mike Brennan, was killed during a firefight in the Kunar Province in 2007.

Hillary Clinton and the Dalai Lama.

Deputies responded to a threat call and found a suspect armed with a firearm had fled on foot.
